Ainsworth-Benning Construction seeks a Construction Superintendent to join our team of landmark builders and be part of the continuous growth that has spread our reputation and business throughout the Black Hills area.

This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus!

Position Summary:

The Superintendent directs the workflow of the project on site consistent with the project schedule and Journey Group safety and quality standards. Provide leadership and serve as the liaison between project team members and to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters. Will provide encompassing communication that promotes collaboration between all jobsite team members and subcontractors. Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership and holding employees accountable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, oversite and support to field personnel to ensure success and profitability of projects.
Execute daily coordination/logistic measures to maintain scheduled activities, equipment needs, material deliveries, scheduled inspections, etc.
Maintain close contact and a good working relationship with the public, subcontractors, inspectors, owners and field staff to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image.
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
Develop a positive teamwork atmosphere
Assist the Project Manager in the development and refinement of project schedules, work with the Project Manager to keep schedules updated.
Coordinates with Human Resources and Project Manager for personnel needs.
Understand and administer the Journey Group safety program to include all subcontractors, ensuring that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated.
Serve as the leader for all on site safety, managing a safe jobsite for all involved.
Collaborate with the Project Manager throughout the life of the project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work with Project Manager to look ahead, organize and coordinate work schedules
Capable of reading blue prints, stake and plan reading
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Ability to observe company safety policy and model safe work practices, as well as partake in safety audits at project work sites.
Effectively communicate, generate professional written material, deliver valuable verbal presentations, build relationships and influence others.
Ability to work under pressure, stay organized, and continuously meet deadlines while being proactive with a sense of urgency.
A mature leader who maintains a professional appearance and demeanor and demonstrates a positive attitude, integrity and social/cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Excellent teamwork with collaboration and consensus-building skills.
Self-directed and able to function with ease as part of a team
Must have the ability to learn various PC-based production reporting systems applications
Ability to manage change, embraces new ideas, is a team player, disagrees constructively
Possess a valid state issued driver's license and evidence of insurability

Education and Experience:

A minimum of 7-10 years' field experience in commercial construction to insure sufficient knowledge of field operational issues.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with others.
Strong problem solving and analytical ability is required.
Computer literacy required; including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Timberline, Blue Beam and Viewpoint
